On December 21, the Specialized Automotive Terminal (TEA) operated by SSA Marine Mexico at the port of Lazaro Cardenas welcomed the MV BYD Shenzhen on its inaugural call, marking the fourth BYD vessel handled at the terminal. Arriving from Ningbo, China, under the Hong Kong flag, the vessel discharged 7,590 vehicles, strengthening an evolving commercial relationship within the automotive logistics chain. Launched in April 2025, the BYD Shenzhen ranks among the world’s largest and highest-capacity Ro-Ro vessels, with a 9,442 CEU (Car Equivalent Unit) capacity, a 219.9-meter length overall, and a 37.7-meter beam, featuring a dual-fuel propulsion system that supports more efficient operations and reduced emissions. This first call reinforces TEA’s role as a strategic hub for large-scale vehicle handling and was marked by the presentation of a commemorative plaque, underscoring a shared commitment to operational excellence and long-term collaboration.
