SSA Marine Mexico: A Genuine Commitment to Sustainability and Community

At SSA Marine Mexico, we believe that business growth and community well-being go hand in hand. That’s why, throughout 2024, we reaffirmed our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility through concrete actions that make a positive impact. A Year of Great Achievements Over the past year, we allocated more than $107,000 USD to 60 projects, benefiting over 7,800 people. These initiatives covered several key areas: - Education: We supported universities, donated microscopes and equipment, and sponsored the "Reto Camp" program at the University of Colima. - Health & Sports: We promoted a healthy lifestyle, collaborated with the Mexican Red Cross and Civil Protection, and supported local athletes. - Support for Vulnerable Groups: We made donations to orphanages, contributed to the National Institute of Migration, and supported various community causes. - Culture: We backed cultural events organized by port authorities. - Environment: We joined decarbonization projects, collaborated with the Environmental Institute, promoted reforestation, and conducted beach clean-up campaigns. Innovation for a Sustainable Future To continue advancing modernization and operational efficiency, we incorporated 11 state-of-the-art E-RTG cranes, investing 22 million dollars. Seven of these cranes operate on electricity, improving our efficiency by 7% and reducing CO2 emissions by nearly 4,000 tons. The remaining four cranes are ready to be converted to electric power in the future.
